Please be advised that Bradford on Avon Town Council are organising a Civil War Re-enactment weekend with the English Civil War Society on Saturday 30th July and Sunday 31st July 2016.

The event will take place between 10:00am and 5:00pm on both days and include a 15 minute road closure on the Town Bridge at 11:40am until 11:55am also on both days.  Short stop and go managed road crossings are scheduled as shown below to see troops safely across the roads:

2:30pm and 4:30pm   Trowbridge Road/Moulton Drive
2:35pm                         Frome Road by The Lock Inn
2:45pm and 4:15pm Baileys Barn/Moulton Drive

The timetable of events for both days is as follows:

10:00am to 5:00pm Living History Site Open in Barton Farm/Tithe Barn
10:30am to 11:30am Drill/Rehearsal on Poulton Playing Fields
11:40am to 11:55am Skirmish on Town Bridge

2:00pm to 2:30pm         Infantry Display at Victory Field
3:15pm to 4pm         Battle at Poulton Playing Fields

The elements generating the most noise during this event are the drill/rehearsal and the main battle, which both contain cannon and musket fire.  The drill/rehearsal will be limited to an hour each morning (10:30am to 11:30am) and the main battle will be from 3:00pm to 4.00pm each day. There will be no loud noises after 4:10pm and the event will finish and close to the public at 6:30pm each day.

The English Civil War Society will be using the Beehive Field on Trowbridge Road as their campsite from Wednesday 27th July until Monday 1st August.

The Town Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience, and will do our very best to keep the noise to a respectable level and ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum.

If you do have any concerns during the weekend please call myself or a member of the Event Staff on 07712 206614.  Please be aware that this mobile number is a temporary number only available from Friday 29th July til Monday 1st August.  If you have any enquiries before or after the weekend please direct them to the Town Council offices on 01225 864240.

The Town Council are pleased to have been able to work with the English Civil War Society, to stage this free family event for the benefit of the community.  We look forward to welcoming you to this spectacular weekend.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and we apologise again for any disturbances, and assure you that this will not be a regular occurrence.

King regards
