Water supply improvement work in Newtown, Bradford-on-Avon — Progress Update
As you are probably aware, we are currently improving the water network in the area, and are currently replacing water mains between Belcombe Road and Newtown, Bradford-on-Avon.
Unfortunately, due to the discovery of an old drainage culvert, not shown on historical Council records and the need to excavate carefully due to the close proximities of listed properties, our current road closure needs to be extended to complete all necessary work safely.
We will however, be replacing a section of this culvert with a new piped equivalent on behalf of Wiltshire Council, to help reduce the risk of future disruption.
How will the work affect you?
This letter is notification that our current road closure which is in place between Sandy Leaze and the junction with Wine Street, will now remain in place until 10 February 2017.
Similar to existing circumstances, this road closure will restrict access to through traffic only. Safe access to properties located within the extent of this road closure will be maintained at all times, although short delays may be experienced while access is made safe. Emergency access will be maintained at all times, together with refuse collection access to help minimise disruption.
The alternative diversion route will continue to be clearly signposted and, unless access to properties within the extent of each closure is required, these diversion routes must be used at all times.

There may be some noise disruption (Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm) while we complete the work as quickly as possible.
What should you do?
You don’t need to do anything. You can continue to use your water supply as normal unless we tell you otherwise.
