Wiltshire Heights care home and BOA Town Council have joined forces to launch a community cinema in Bradford on Avon at St Margaret’s Hall. The idea came from conversations at the care home with regards to accessible cinema viewings.
Libby Miles of Wiltshire Heights said:
“Our residents talked to us about modern films that they would like to see in a cinema environment. Some of our residents have mobility issues or are living with dementia which could make being in a regular cinema environment very difficult for them.”
The idea behind the “Tuesday Matinee Club” is to make it accessible to all so there is cinema style tiered seating, as well as more informal seating around tables. There is also a short interval to provide a break in the film for refreshments and a comfort break.
