Public Toilets re-opened
During the past few weeks, public toilets across the country were closed based on public health advice from the government. However recently, as footfall has increased and restrictions to shop openings have been relaxed, councils have received requests from the public and market traders to re-open them, which has led to our revisiting of risk assessments to enable this.
From today, the public toilets at St Margaret’s car park and Station carpark will re-open between the following hours:
10am – 4pm
These restricted hours are also on account of available Town Council staff resources, taking note of government advice around shielding and the need to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of both our staff and to ensure to facilities are safe for members of public to use. Therefore an enhanced cleaning regime will now be in place.
Users are reminded to retain social distancing of at least 2 metres if queuing, and to wash hands with soap and water upon entering and leaving the facilities.
We have also provided sanitising wipes to enable users to wipe surfaces down where they feel required and request that these wipes are placed in the bins provided – DO NOT FLUSH DOWN THE TOILET as they may cause blockages.
If any issues are observed, please let the Town Council know as soon as possible by calling 01225 864240 or using our Reporting Form HERE
