Woodland

The Town Council started managing woodland areas in 2019 with Kingston Wood.

Arnold Wood was gifted to us in February 2020, and the Environment & Planning Committee voted in March 2020 to buy Becky Addy Wood.

By managing woodland, the Town Council can protect these important habitats for future generations – and they’re also good for carbon sequestration.

Carbon sequestration is the capturing, removal and storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.

We’ve also taken over management of other wooded areas around town from Wiltshire Council.
