On Saturday 25 February, Bradford on Avon’s Ukrainian community is hosting an event as part of the national festival of Masnytsia at Westbury Gardens.
Masnytsia is a religious folk festival celebrated in parts of Eastern Europe.
Everyone is invited to enjoy Ukrainian pancakes, tea, and coffee, and learn more about Ukraine.
The event (12pm – 3pm) will include an act of remembrance to honour all victims of the war as the conflict enters its second year.
In addition, the Town Council will plant a Kalyna (Guelder Rose) bush, a national symbol of Ukraine which was donated by members of the Ukrainian community to thank Bradford on Avon for its support and welcome.
The Kalyna will be the first part of the Town Council tree planting plans.
The event will take place between 12 (noon) and 3pm with the Mayor leading the tree planting at 12.30pm.
Donations are invited to help support Ukrainians locally and in Ukraine.
