Full Council discusses Social Distancing Scheme

At the Full Council meeting on 6th July, Town Councillors unanimously agreed the following motion re: the Social Distancing Scheme
IT WAS RESOLVED:
(i) To request that Wiltshire Council undertakes a full traffic modelling exercise, including analysis of pedestrian safety, carbon footprint and air quality impacts of each scenario and
(ii) The Town Council supports a combined consultation with Wiltshire Council, in the autumn, taking into consideration the data collected and the modelling outcomes.
(iii) As a matter of urgency, we request that Wiltshire Council investigate ways of ameliorating the through traffic currently blighting Bradford on Avon and other settlements in West Wiltshire, including engaging in meaningful dialogue with Bath and North East Somerset Council.
Mayor of Bradford on Avon, Cllr Sarah Gibson said:
“I was pleased that we could agree unanimously as a town council on this key motion. We continue to seek advice from Wiltshire Council on the legal status of the temporary traffic order allowing the current social distancing traffic scheme and will update residents on next steps as soon as possible.”
