The Bradford on Avon Community Emergency Volunteers (CEVs) are group of volunteers drawn from our local community who wish to help others during times of severe weather, civil emergency, or at large scale events in the town and are supported by the Town Council.
The recent flooding in town demonstrated the fantastic community spirit we have here in BOA. Lots of people came out to support local businesses and residents during and after the flooding and we’ve had lots of interest in people joining our Community Emergency Volunteers (CEVs) group.
Since then, we’ve been reviewing the work of the CEVs and look forward to developing the group and welcoming new members. In January we’ll be hosting a drop-in session for anyone interested in joining.
It will be a great opportunity to learn about the role of a CEV and it will also give our coordinator a chance to get to know the volunteers and what they have to offer, enabling us to respond to emergencies as efficiently as possible.
The session will be held at The Dandy Lion pub on Monday 13 January, from 6pm to 8pm.
There’s no obligation to sign up, so if you’re free, we’d love to meet you and share the incredible work our CEV group does. If you can’t make the drop in session but want to join up please contact our Community Development Officer, George Tomlinson at gtomlinson@bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk
