Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon – Farm and Nature Walk and Talk

Price: £Free

Pertwood Farm has very kindly agreed to host a farm visit for us on Tuesday, July 5 2022, when they will talk to us about the wildlife and organic aspects of the farm. Their wildlife experts are happy to lead a walk and we will hear about the farming as we go about the farm.

The walk is about 2.5 mile long and will take about three hours. The terrain is easy to manage although there could be some lumps and bumps to negotiate along the way. Feel free to bring a hiking pole if you wish. If the weather is poor, we can eat our lunches in their tithe barn.

There is no charge at all for the visit, which is very generous of them. Pertwood has been an organic farm for 30 years where it operates a classic mixed organic farming programme of grains, legumes and grass leys grazed by sheep and beef cattle.

Do log on to their website:pertwood.co.uk to read much more about them.

Our group will be limited to 20 people, and 13 of those places have already been taken. If you’re interested in coming with us, please register your interest with Jill Hollings via email: jillmhollings@gmail.com.

It would be useful if you could give me your mobile numbers as well. Things to bring: waterproof clothing (if it’s wet) and good walking shoes, a packed lunch, bottle of water and flask of tea or coffee, if you wish. Don’t forget your camera/phone!

Car-sharing is a good idea and I can take one other person as my car is very small. It takes about 45 minutes to get there, and the tour begins at 10am. We should aim to be there by 9.50 at the latest. I suggest we sort out the car-sharing etc.

If you have any questions, please call me on either 01225 723264 or 07801418145.
