Culver Close

Culver Close
Culver Close recreation ground

Culver Close is a large green grass space home to Bradford on Avon Cricket Club, the Bowls Club and 3 community tennis courts. As such most of the grass is managed for sports, including cricket and football.

The recreational ground is a wonderful green space in the town on the edge of Frome Road, backing up to Barton Farm Country Park and next to Victory Field.

Tennis courts

In 2024 we worked with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to improve the tennis courts at Culver Close. This happened as part of the LTA’s Park Tennis Project, a nationwide project investing in public tennis courts.

The work included:

  • resurfacing and remarking
  • installing new nets
  • fitting a new access gate.

Unlike before, you’ll need to book the tennis courts to play. There is also a charge to use the courts. You’ll be able to sign up for either an annual membership (£40 per household) or pay as you play (£6 per hour). The money from these charges goes toward the future maintenance of the tennis courts.

There’s a dedicated website which handles this for us. You can book a court or an annual membership on our ClubSpark website.

How we manage Culver Close
