Local elections in BOA

The pre-election period has officially begun, meaning local elections are on the horizon. On Thursday 1 May, all 2,118 parish council seats across Wiltshire, along with 98 Wiltshire Council (unitary council) seats, will be up for election.

This period, also known as purdah, ensures that all town council communications (such as press releases, news updates, and social media posts) remain objective and balanced.

About us guide

We put this document together to help prospective councillors understand the role of the town council, how we operate and what we look after.

This is not an exhaustive document however, and if you’re considering running for a seat on Bradford on Avon Town Council, and have questions about the roles and responsibilities of a councillor, please email office@bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01225 864240 to arrange a chat with the Chief Executive & Town Clerk.
