During the first COVID-19 lockdown, we set up GrowBoA linking our pandemic response to support with eco and climate issues. The project was aimed at supporting well-being during this time, helping people to re-engage with their natural environment and appreciate the biodiversity present in the town.
It did this by helping people to share seeds and plants at Grow Swap Stations in the town, made from reclaimed timber by one of our Councillors. The project also encouraged people to grow their own produce, helping towards reducing food-miles and personal carbon footprints and showing people how simple, affordable and rewarding it can be to ‘Grow Your Own’.
