Wiltshire Digital Drive

We’re working with Wiltshire Digital Drive so people can donate their unused laptops, computers, smartphones, and tablets for refurbishing and recycling.

Wiltshire Digital Drive is a Community Interest Company which refurbishes and recycles donated devices – gifting refurbished devices back to the community.

As far as possible, donated devices are refurbished so they can be used again. If this isn’t possible, devices are recycled instead.

Drop off your devices

You can drop off your unused devices at our Kingston House office in the town.

We’re open for donations between 9am and 4pm on weekdays, expect on Bank Holidays.

You don’t need to make an appointment – you can just call in.

What you can donate

There are some minimum requirements that should mean Wiltshire Digital Drive can refurbish your devices.

There are also a few things that you’ll need to do before you donate your devices.

Laptops

  • minimum operating system (OS): Windows 7
  • if you’re donating a laptop, Wiltshire Digital Drive needs the charger cable as well
  • screens and trackpads need to be working and in reasonable condition
  • if you have a BIOS password, please remove this from your laptop.

Desktop PCs

  • minimum operating system (OS): Windows 7
  • for PC donations, it’s good to have the keyboard, mouse, and monitor
  • wiltshire Digital Drive will also take accessories including webcams and headsets
  • if you have a BIOS password, please remove this before donating your computer.

Smartphones

  • charging cables and cases are useful
  • for Apple phones, please sign out using your Apple ID. This means your phone won’t be Activation Locked
