A HUGE thanks to the fabulous Bradford on Avon TC Community Emergency Volunteers (CEVs) who stood down yesterday having assisted those shielding/isolating in the community throughout the past 20 weeks.
Along with street champions, they have helped so many people through this difficult time, totalling over 1000 response for help, many of which have been filtered through the Town Council Office.
“The CEVs have played a central role in our local response to COVID, helping literally hundreds of local residents over the last few months – a huge effort for which we offer heartfelt thanks.
Their coordinator, Paul, also assisted in the Town Council’s strategic planning for the emergency we found ourselves in, providing insight and assistance across a number of areas. This help was immeasurably important, and stands as a great example of what committed and knowledgeable individuals can do.”
Whilst the current COVID-19 status in the area now means there are less people requiring support, we are aware that for some there is still a need, particularly regarding prescription collections. Many street champions are still available to help, and the Town Council is providing additional support from Town Wardens when required.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, please fill out the request form here: https://bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk/covid19-volunteer…/ or call 01225 864240
Cllr Jennie Parker, a CEV herself, said of their coordinator Paul Robertson:
“Paul has made it possible for us all to do our part and kept us up to date on everything that was happening. There are a lot of really grateful people in our town and his dedication to the health and wellbeing of the residents of Bradford on Avon deserves huge recognition.”
Rest assured that if the COVID-19 situation worsens, the Bradford on Avon TC Community Emergency Volunteers will be back to help and the Town Council will continue to monitor the needs of the community closely.
For now, on behalf of the town, we say THANK YOU and wish the CEVs a well earned break!
