WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN IN THE ‘COUNTDOWN TO PEACE’ CELEBRATION IN 2018?
11th November 2018 marks both the centenary of the Armistice that ended hostility in World War I and Remembrance Sunday. ‘Countdown to Peace’ is a programme of events and activities over the first ten days of November 2018, designed to raise awareness and understanding across the whole community of Bradford on Avon. This will lead up to the day of the Centenary and Remembrance Sunday.
Plans are still in the initial stages, but events might include music concerts, poetry readings, film screenings and public talks on aspects of the war and the post-war peace. Another initiative is the WW1Tree Planting Project to commemorate the fallen at one or more sites around Bradford on Avon.
Councillor Simon McNeill-Ritchie is heading up the team, so if you would like to be involved with this project, please email us at office@bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk
