We’ve launched an electric bike (e-bike) loan scheme to help people trial travelling in and around the town more sustainably.
The town council has purchased an e-bike for residents to borrow for up to 14 days.

Our first hirer, Justine Pitts said she was an e-bike convert – and even named our e-bike, Ernie.
“My first time on any type of bike in many years. I surprised myself and absolutely loved it,” she added. “Great to have the power back up in our hilly town. My top tip – avoid steps; Ernie’s very heavy!”
