Councillor priorities for coming year laid out

Town councillors met yesterday for their first annual conference of the new term.  Among many other topics of discussion, the town councillors laid out their priorities for the coming two years, which included:

  • A public consultation this Autumn on traffic solutions for Bradford on Avon, to discuss a one-way system, pedestrian safety and improving air quality
  • Introducing urgent mitigation to address serious traffic concerns in Springfield and New Road
  • Consulting residents on the Poulton Park scheme in September, with a view to beginning construction of the Skatepark within a year, subject to funding
  • A firm commitment that the Climate & Ecological Emergencies would guide every decision this council takes
  • As far more green spaces come under Town Council control, agreeing that revitalising our play areas would be a priority for this council

At the conference, Councillors also reviewed the current Town Council Committee structures and scope, which, along with dates, will be confirmed at the next Full Council meeting on 6th July 2021.
