Westbury Garden works: riverside wall work underway in Bradford on Avon

The second phase of work on the riverside wall at Westbury Garden is now underway, focusing on restoring the riverbank where the damaged section of wall was removed.

Contractors are installing anchors into the wall, taking care to avoid the tree roots. A mesh will then be fitted, along with a seeded membrane and organic material.

The tree roots will grow into the organic material with plants growing from the seeded membrane.

Further work in Westbury Garden will focus on improving the soil around the London Plane tree and installing a new fence to keep visitors a safe distance from the river’s edge.

The path in Westbury Garden may be closed at times while the work is carried out to ensure public safety.

We’re expecting the works to be complete before the Christmas lights switch on event in Westbury Garden on Friday 27 November.
