The Bradford on Avon community came together on Saturday 19 April for a first-of-its-kind Fun Dog Show & Spring Fete.
The event drew hundreds of people celebrating their four-legged friends, good weather and the final days of the Easter holidays.
Thanks to the Top Dog competition, raffle, dog show entries, stalls on the day and generous donations we’ve raised a whopping £2,608.70 toward the next phase of play area improvements. This does not include funds from the Top Dog competition or raffle. Don’t worry, we’ll be announcing the grand total soon!
All in all, 118 dogs were entered across 10 categories including Best Pedigree, Best in Show, Most Handsome Boy and Gorgeous Girl and Dog that looks Most Like it’s Owner.
It felt like a truly feel-good event with smiles all around. There are a lot of people and organisations to thank for supporting the event, sponsoring elements of it and helping on the day. This includes:
- Doghouse
- Stephen (Active Agility)
- Wadswick Country Store
- Carter & Harding eyecare
- The Bradford on Avon Dog Walking Field
- Harris, Hill & Gibbons Veterinary Group
- 4 Acres Dog Field
- Laser Bear
- Liam Collins
A huge thank you to our amazing dog show stewards, the volunteers who helped run stalls, baked delicious treats, or donated books and toys.
We also want to thank all the generous local businesses who donated prizes for our incredible raffle and a special thanks to Lois Melia for helping to organise it.
We’re delighted to share that the raffle, generously sponsored by Carter & Harding eyecare, raised over £1,600 on its own.
A big thank you also goes to the team from the local PureGym for running the hugely popular Welly Wanging competition — and congratulations to our Golden Welly winners, Mark and Jess!
Keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on the Poulton Park play area improvements.
And once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the event and this project.
