The Town Council has been working with the Bradford on Avon and Melksham Health Partnership for a number of weeks now, in preparation for the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccines, to make sure that Town Council facilities are available as needed to support the programme.
With vaccinations commencing in late December in Melksham, for logistical reasons relating to the vaccine itself, a proportion of Bradford on Avon residents have already received their first vaccination dose, based on their own risk category.
Early in the first lockdown, the Town Council placed St. Margaret’s Hall at the disposal of the Practice for use as required. We now look forward to the facility being used to support the vaccination programme, upon request of the practice.
Vaccination Clinics are also being supported in both Melksham and, once commenced, Bradford on Avon by the BoA Community Emergency Volunteers who are assisting with traffic stewarding.
More information about the current stage of the vaccination programme can be found below in a letter from the Practice, including assisting you in identifying the priority group to which you belong.

We will communicate further updates as they become available.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Dom Newton, said:
“Delivery of the vaccines is of vital importance to seeing the back of Covid-19, the massive threat to public health, and the ongoing impact of repeated lockdowns. It is how we will see lives saved, a reduction in the health impacts on tens of thousands of people, and a reduction in the restrictions which we are all, again, facing on our lives.
Taking up the vaccine, when called, is a clear action that we can all take to demonstrate our commitment to see the end of this pandemic, and return to safer and more stable times. We would like to thank all those who are assisting in delivery of the vaccination programme – including our local doctors and Practice staff, the wider NHS family and our Community Emergency Volunteers.”
