B3108 in Limpley Stoke
Part of the B3108 in Limpley Stoke, between the A36 and Murhill, will be closed for urgent repairs later this month and in November.
Network Rail will be carrying out the work after a vehicle damaged a bridge.
Key closure dates/times:
- 2 November from 10pm to 6am
- 9 November from 10pm to 6am.
A diversion route will be in place via A36, A361, B3105, B3109, A363, and the unaffected part of the B3108.
Monkton Farleigh
Part of the C213 road near Monkton Farleigh Village Hall will be closed on 29 October for Wessex Water to repair a leaking mains.
An alternative route will be in place, directing traffic along the unaffected sections of C213, A363, B3105, B3109 and C215.
The repair works are expected to last 3 days, but the closure notice will remain active for up to 5 days.
C230, Winsley
Wiltshire Council has announced a temporary closure of the C230, Winsley from 9 to 13 December 2024.
The closure will affect a 100-metre section southeast of the entrance to Turleigh Manor, allowing Alpha Rod to complete a new foul water connection.
Clearly marked diversions will direct traffic via the unaffected sections of the C230, as well as the A363, B3108 and C391.
Footpath 16
Wiltshire Council has announced a temporary closure of part of Footpath 16 in Bradford on Avon.
The closure, scheduled from 6 January to 10 January 2025, will affect the path from its junction with Belcombe Road, extending approximately 120 metres southward.
This measure is necessary to replace old post and wire boundary fencing along the railway with a new ClipEx security fence.
A clearly marked alternative route will be in place via the unaffected section of Footpath 16, connecting to Footpath 28 and Belcombe Road.
Temporary Traffic Restrictions in Wiltshire and Bath area announced
Wiltshire Council and Bath and North East Somerset Council have issued temporary traffic restrictions affecting multiple roads in various parishes as part of essential safety measures during the A36 closure.
The safety measure will take place from Sunday 1 December to Saturday 1 March 2025.
Key restrictions include:
Road closures
- part of Pipehouse Lane (Freshford) and Lower Stoke (Limpley Stoke)
- no alternative route is available for Pipehouse Lane; Lower Stoke offers diversions via the B3108 and other local roads.
Width restrictions (1.98m/6’6”)
- Midford Lane (Freshford and Limpley Stoke)
- Church Lane (Limpley Stoke).
Height restrictions (4.1m/13’9”)
- parts of B3108, Church Lane, Abbey Lane and Ashes Lane.
Weight limit (7.5T)
- enforced on parts of B3108, Church Lane, Abbey Lane and Ashes Lane.
Temporary speed limits
- 20mph on sections of Church Lane, the C221 and Abbey Lane
- 30mph on parts of B3108 in Limpley Stoke, Monkton Combe and Winsley
- 40mph on a section of B3108 in Winsley.
These restrictions, designed to ensure safety during the works, may extend up to 18 months if needed.
