BOA Join In! returns this June for another chance to celebrate the wide variety of community groups, charities, clubs and social groups Bradford on Avon has to offer.
The event gives not-for-profit groups across the town the chance to showcase themselves to the community – whether that’s sharing information about their cause, recruiting volunteers, connecting with potential new members or sharing a taster of what they do.
Over 30 groups and organisations are signed up to take part, so whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a way to meet people, volunteering opportunities or are simply curious about what’s going on in town, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
We will be welcoming back the Saxon Group Riding for the Disabled Association to Westbury Garden where you can meet and have some tea and cake with a pony.
In Westbury Garden you can also enjoy demonstrations from the Holt Morris, Bells Angels and Dancing Flavours. The Community Church will be hosting wellness, and blessings and there’ll be a whole host of activities on offer from BOA Youth, U3A, the Swift Group, Climate Friendly BOA, Men’s Shed and West Wilts Radio,
Then head over to the newly refurbished St Margaret’s Hall where you can enjoy displays and demonstrations from the BOA Flower Club, Makers Corner and Avon Stitchers and the WARPED textiles radical craft group!
The Ukraine Support Group will be serving refreshments, alongside a fun activity where children and parents can create their own home decorations. You can also join in with communal song-writing and art with the recently founded Kindwaves Charity.
The event coincides with the end of Volunteers Week, and there’ll be a chance to discover the wide range of volunteering opportunities in the town from BOA Youth and Dorothy House, to the Bradford on Avon Museum and Wiltshire Link Community Transport.
Other organisations taking part include BOA Lions Club, BOA Rotary Club, Alex Moulton Charitable Trust, Beyond Dementia, Dementia Action Alliance, BOACan, Repair Café, ClUB, French Twinning, The Hub, Civil Service Retirement Fellowship, the Bowls Club, Patient Participation Group, West Wiltshire Rail User Group and Station Volunteer Group.
