Upcoming road works in and around Bradford on Avon

The following Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) will begin in and around Bradford on Avon soon:

B3107 Holt Road

Contractors are set to begin remedial works to the roundabout on the B3107 Holt Road on Monday, 13 June.

The scheduled remedial works and kerbing, undertaken by CJL Construction on behalf of CG Fry, will be required until Friday, 8 July. 

Multiway signals will be in place as the works are done to each quarter of the area. 

During peak times these signals will be manually controlled to ensure the steady flow of traffic. 

Works will take place between Monday and Friday, and the lights will be removed every Friday at the end of the working day.

Warning signs will be in place from next week to notify highway users. 

A365/B3109 Box Fiveways Junction

Wiltshire Council plans to refurbish and upgrade the traffic signals on the A365/B3109 Box Fiveways junction, soon.

The traffic signals will be upgraded with the latest technology, which will allow for remote monitoring and adjustments to the signal timings to manage traffic flow. At the same time: 

  • Streetlights will be upgraded to LEDs 
  • The junction area will be resurfaced and new road markings
  • Road studs will be installed on the five roads that adjoin the junction located between Bradford on Avon and Corsham, Melksham, Box and the Kingsdown Road

The Kingsdown Road will be closed from Monday, 13 June 2022, to Friday, 8 July 2022, and a signed diversion route will be in place.

The remainder of the junction operates under four-way temporary traffic lights to ensure the safety of the contractor and highway users alike.

Night-time road closures of the whole junction area will be in operation for the resurfacing work. 

The notice said that people should expect delays. Wiltshire Council has advised motorists to follow the signed diversion routes on the A365, B3109 and C48 Kingsdown Road.

C391 and B3108 Winsley Road

Wiltshire Council is undertaking three phases of work, which will see the temporary closure of some roads to all traffic. 

The closure is to allow Wiltshire Council to install a shared use path scheme.

Phase One and Two will see the temporary closure of the C391 (Part), Winsley, from its roundabout junction with B3108 to its junction with Ashley Road. 

Wiltshire Council will commence the works on Phase and Two on Monday, 4 July 2022. The temporary closure will be in place until Sunday, 24 July 2022. 

In Phase Three B3018 Winsley Road, Winsley and Bradford on Avon will be closed. Wiltshire Council’s closure will affect the road from its roundabout junction with C391, Winsley to where it meets Downs View, Bradford on Avon.

The Unitary Authority will begin Phase Three on Monday, 25 July 2022, with the works running until Friday, 2 September 2022. 

Alternative route for Phase One and Two: via B3108 – Dane Rise – C391 (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

Alternative route for Phase Three: via B3108 (unaffected length) – A363 – B3109 – B3105 – B3016 – Elizabeth Way – A361 – A36 – B3018 (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

The TTRO said that the closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
