Dementia-friendly cinema returns in Bradford on Avon | Wednesday Matinee Club

We’re teamed up with the Dementia Action Alliance to bring back the popular Wednesday Matinee Club film screenings at St Margaret’s Hall

The Wednesday Matinee Club is a monthly, fully accessible and dementia-friendly film club in Bradford on Avon. Each screening gives people the chance to enjoy a film, meet new people and catch up with old friends in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Each film costs £6 to attend but carers can attend for free, and refreshments are available. 

What makes the screenings dementia-friendly? 

The screenings are designed to provide a relaxed and comfortable cinema experience for people living with dementia, as well as their carers, friends and other members of the community.

The features include:

  • the hall lights are kept on during the film
  • large subtitles are shown on screen
  • there is an intermission during the film
  • refreshments are available
  • carers attend free of charge.
