Blue hearts help to ‘green up’ play areas

There’s always a silver lining…. or perhaps green one! Over the past few weeks, whilst the pandemic forced the closure of Barton Farm play area, we let nature have some fun for a while instead.

However, before cutting it all back for the re-opening tomorrow, we decided to leave some small nature patches for children to investigate and enjoy when they return.

The four areas are marked with blue hearts, made by Cllr Dom Newton, and are already teeming with interesting things to look at – and we hope they’ll get better over time!

To find out more about re-wilding small areas to encourage biodiversity and learning, visit BLUE campaign‘s Facebook page and maybe even create a patch in your own garden!
