Expert volunteers wanted to help skatepark project

THE TOWN Council is appealing for fundraising experts to help make the skatepark plans a reality.

Following an unsuccessful lottery funding bid, Bradford on Avon Town Council wants to reassure residents of our dedication to the project.

At the latest Full Council meeting (8 March), Cllr Kate Bessant proposed to form a working group to help raise the remaining funds.

It is intended that the group will be made up of councillors, community fundraising experts, skaters and parents.

We are looking for people with expertise in fundraising to see the skatepark over the finish line,” said a Bradford on Avon Town Council spokesperson.

How much has been raised?

In March 2021, the Town Council committed £100,000 to the project.

Additionally, the community has raised £36,000, and the Colonel William Llewellen Palmer Educational Charity has granted £50,000 to the plans.

It is expected that the total cost of the skatepark will be around £400,000, including landscaping.
