Plans are underway in Bradford on Avon to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on Friday 15 August.
The commemorations will centre around local WWII veteran Roy Booth, 99, a former Royal Navy serviceman who lives at Abbey Mill and is hoping to lay a poppy wreath at the war memorial at 7pm.
The event will be organised by the Royal British Legion in partnership with the town council and residents.
Final details will be shared soon — and we encourage residents to join us in paying tribute to those who served and sacrificed.
If you’re walking through The Shambles you might also see the return of the yarn bomb post box topper made by the BOA Women’s Institute!
